Plasma Cutter

Plasma Cutter

Parkside
4.7/5· 586 Lidl ratings

A compressed-air plasma cutter for cutting metal, with a continuously adjustable cutting current of 15–40 A. It can make separation cuts through steel plate up to 12 mm thick.

Pilot ignition avoids having to grind the starting point. The cutter is suitable for steel plate, stainless steel, aluminium, copper and iron, and requires a suitable compressor, which is not included.

Product details

Cutting performance

The electronically controlled plasma stream is designed for even cuts. The cutting current can be adjusted continuously from 15–40 A to suit the material thickness and cutting requirements. Pilot ignition starts the plasma stream without contact, so the nozzle does not need to touch the workpiece at the start. This reduces nozzle wear.

The cutter is suitable for steel plate, stainless steel, aluminium, copper and iron. Cutting capacity varies by material: up to 12 mm for steel plate. For stainless steel and aluminium, cutting speed may need to be adjusted to account for thickness and heat conduction.

Air connection and safety

The cutter operates on compressed air at a working pressure of 4–4.5 bar. It has a rear compressed-air connection with a pressure gauge and regulator, plus a 2 m air hose with QuickConnect. A suitable compressor is required and is not included. The unit is compatible with standard compressors, for example the PARKSIDE PKO 500 A1.

Thermal protection with an indicator light provides overload protection. This Class A device may cause electromagnetic interference, and its suitability for residential areas supplied by a public low-voltage network is limited. Before use, read the instruction manual, wear suitable protective clothing, and check the compressor output and working pressure.

Included components

  • Cutting torch with 3 interchangeable torch attachments
  • 2.5 m cutting cable
  • Earth cable
  • Pressure regulator with pressure gauge
  • 2 m compressed-air hose

FAQ

Does the plasma cutter need a compressor?
Yes. It operates on compressed air and requires a suitable compressor; the PARKSIDE PKO 500 A1 is given as an example of a compatible unit.
Which materials can be cut?
It is suitable for steel sheet, stainless steel, aluminium, copper and iron. Maximum cutting capacity varies by material; for steel sheet it is up to 12 mm.
How does pilot ignition reduce wear?
Pilot ignition starts without contact before cutting, so the nozzle does not touch the workpiece; this reduces nozzle wear and extends its service life.
Is the device suitable for use in living spaces?
This Class A device can cause electromagnetic interference; its suitability for living spaces with a public low-voltage supply is limited. Follow the safety instructions in the user manual.
What should be observed during use?
Before use, read the user manual, wear suitable protective clothing, and check the compressor’s power and the working pressure.
